Yoga
All the Yoga classes at St Pancras Physiotherapy Clinic are taught by carefully chosen teachers, with much experience. Classes are all small groups with a maximum of 8 people. This means that you will get particularly close supervision. So, if you have a vulnerable back or neck, or have a particular goal in mind, and feel tentative about joining big group classes at the gym, come to us for more personal tuition. Good for all shapes and sizes, Yoga can be a weekly stretch to avoid injury, time for relaxation, or a complete way of living. So don't be put off before you try it and see what it might be for you. We welcome participants of all levels of ability and experience and offer a friendly and relaxed environment. Though the exact origins of Yoga are unknown, it is considered to be the oldest physical discipline in existence. Flexibility Flexibility and Yoga go together. With even a small increase in flexibility, tensions in the body will change. Don't worry if you know you're really not flexible! Classes at our clinic are kept small so that they can be tailored to the needs of the group. After injury or pain, muscles often shorten and to prevent recurrence it is important to restore and improve flexibility. People who do regular physical training or have a job that involves repetitive movements can particularly benefit to avoid tightness building up, which in turn can be a common source of injury. Strength Yoga helps to strengthen the body in a very different way from gym exercise or aerobic activity. It is a great way of 'cross training', improving core muscle strength and allow the body to develop improved resilience against injury. State of mind Yoga is well known for having a strong restorative capability. It can revive alertness, improve sleeping and encourage positive thought. Yoga possesses the unusual quality of developing flexibility, strength and an improved state of mind simultaneously. How much do they cost? A 60 minute group class costs £10, but you can save money with our block booking option. If you prefer an individual class, these can be organised by contacting reception. Individual classes cost £45 for 60 minutes. Some people may prefer to do an individual class, before joining a group class, but that is simply up to personal preference. We have a brand new, expanded class timetable for 2010, so there should be a class to meet most needs! Please book in advance as numbers are limited. We welcome all levels of ability to every class.
