Massage therapy

We cater for a wide range of clients and therefore offer a wide range of massage therapies. Whether its a deep sports massage for after squash, or a gentle aromatherapy massage to ease away the tensions of the week, our massage therapists are here to help.

Holistic massage

Massage is one of the oldest and simplest form of medical treatment. It uses therapeutic touch to manipulate and relax the muscles and soft tissues of the body, relieving tension and bringing the body into a relaxed state. Based on the Swedish system, it treats the 'whole' person rather than isolated symptoms.
Can help: general aches and pains, relieve tension, reduce anxiety, promote sleep, aid relaxation.

Deep tissue massage

A deep tissue release suitable for everyone, not just sportsmen and women. Its principal objectives are often more therapeutic than relaxing. It may focus on particularly tight areas and can include myofascial and trigger point release.
Can help: Deep tension, trigger points, chronic conditions

Sports massage

A deep tissue massage aimed at improving circulation, eliminating the build up of lactic acids and preventing accumulated stiffness from training or working repetitively. Some people choose to have a sports massage regularly to reduce the effect of regular training or working positions. Others have it to reduce an acute tightness from time to time.
Can help: Muscle recovery, injury prevention

Thai Yoga Massage

Thai Yoga massage is an ancient healing art and distinct massage form. It is a form of passive Yoga to develop flexibility, body alignment, inner organ massage, blood oxygenation and deep relaxation. Performed on the floor and fully clothed, deep pressure is applied; synchronised stretching movements enable the achievement of flexibility, the opening of joints and balancing of the muscles. Benefits include improved vitality and a sense of inner peace and quiet mind. Each treatment is tailor-made to the needs of the individual. It is effective as prevention as well as in treatment of many common ailments.
Can help: Low energy, stress management and wellbeing, fatigue.
If you would like to book Thai Yoga massage, please book with Danila who works every Saturday. You will require at least 60 minutes for this specialised massage, so please choose an appropriate time slot. If you are unsure, check with reception.

Aromatherapy

A form of massage based on the use of essential oils. These are derived from the flowers, bark branches, rind or roots of plants with purported healing properties. The choice of oils will differ with each massage, as they are blended to individual needs.
Can help: relaxation, stress, insomnia, emotional problems.
(Add £5 to normal massage prices).

Reflexology

Reflexology involves applying pressure to feet and hands. The therapeutic technique is assessed on the basis of zones and reflexes and is used for the relief of tension both in the feet and corresponding areas.
Can help: a whole range of conditions in all areas of the body. Particularly relaxing after that stressful day.

Indian Head Massage (IHM)

IHM is a deeply relaxing treatment which includes massage of the upper back, neck, head and face. It is performed fully clothed in a seated position. Oils can be used if required.
Can help: Neck tension, shoulder strain, headaches, insomnia, eye strain
